Based upon a poem by Ashish Ram, the words of this song impart the notion that even a single person can effect change and make a difference. That all ideas, big or small, have the potential to change attitudes, lives, and ultimately, the world.
#Project: The Wishing Well
We started MapleWishes with the hope of inspiring others to support causes important to them. Different issues are important to different people and there are innumerable worthy causes being campaigned for in incredible and unique ways. To this end, MapleWishes is happy to offer micro-grants of $500 to service campaigns initiated by our peers and centered around causes that they are intrinsically motivated to pursue.
Covid-19 has made it hard for all of us to do more, even when more is exactly what has been needed. So, while the "Wishing Well" used to be a biannual allocation, we decided early on during the pandemic to make it a monthly offering. Now, more than ever, we hope this exercise empowers others our age to identify issues of importance and responsibilizes them to be part of the solution.
